You often read that Sapphire is the queen of Dopplers. We compared the prices of every phase on every Doppler knife and gun we track, and the calculation reruns on every price update.

- Among the 18 knives where Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl are all on sale, the most expensive is Black Pearl on 16, Ruby on 2 and Sapphire on 0.
- Sapphire is cheaper than Ruby on 18 of these 18 knives.
- On median, a rare phase costs: Ruby ×3.2, Sapphire ×2.1, Black Pearl ×3.9, Emerald ×3.3 the price of the same knife's cheapest regular phase.

How we measure it
- The items: every Doppler and Gamma Doppler knife and gun we track, in Factory New and in the normal version (no StatTrak™ or Souvenir), with at least one regular phase and one rare phase on sale.
- The price: for each phase, the lowest price recorded across all tracked marketplaces, buyer fees included, paid with the site balance. Every price goes through our safeguard, which removes phases misattributed by a source (a rare phase priced below a regular one, for example).
- The ratio: the rare phase's price divided by the price of the same knife's cheapest regular phase (Phase 1 to 4).
Rare phase prices come from several independent sites, each stating the phase of the copy on sale. When several sites give close prices for the same phase, the ranking is solid; it can move when few copies are on sale.
