StatTrak™ and Souvenir premium: ×1.5 on guns, ×1.2 on knives

The StatTrak™ version of a skin counts the kills made with that gun. The Souvenir version comes from a tournament package and carries the match stickers. Do they really cost more than the normal version, and by how much? We measured it on our prices.

The short answer

  • StatTrak™ on a gun: about ×1.51 the price of the normal version (median).
  • StatTrak™ on a knife: about ×1.18.
  • The premium drops as the price rises: ×1.56 on guns at €1–5, ×1.36 at €20–100, and almost nothing (×1.03) on knives at €500 and above.
  • Souvenir: from €1 upward, no measurable premium (×1.0).

How we measured it

  • The pairs: for each skin that exists in a normal version and a StatTrak™ (or Souvenir) version, in the same wear, we compare their two reference prices. 3,883 StatTrak™ pairs and 1,246 Souvenir pairs, measured on October 25, 2026.
  • The reference price: the one FragPrice computes at every price check to validate site prices (median of all marketplace prices and of real Skinport sales).
  • The median: we keep the middle value, and we also give the "middle half" (half of the pairs fall within that range) to show how much cases vary.

The results

StatTrak™

GroupMedian premiumMiddle half of pairs
Guns×1.51×1.12 to ×2.0
Knives×1.18×1.05 to ×1.34

By price:

Price of the normal versionMedian StatTrak™ premium
Guns at €1–5×1.56
Guns at €20–100×1.36
Knives at €500 and above×1.03

On a cheap skin, StatTrak™ can cost one and a half times more. On an expensive knife the gap becomes very small: buyers pay for the knife, not the counter.

Souvenir

From €1 upward, the Souvenir version sells at the same price as the normal version (×0.95 to ×1.05 depending on the price bracket). Below €1 you see huge ratios (×3 to ×1,200), but they mean nothing: the normal version of these skins sells at the €0.02 floor price, so any Souvenir looks hundreds of times more expensive.

An extreme case, not an error

The ★ StatTrak™ Navaja Knife | Blue Steel (Factory New) is listed around €14,000 to €16,000 on three sites, versus about €160 for the normal version. This version is almost impossible to find (this knife's float doesn't go below 0.06, so its Factory New version only exists between 0.06 and 0.07): it's not a pricing error, but it falls completely outside the averages.

What it means for you

  • Small budget: StatTrak™ often costs one and a half times more. If you don't care about the counter, take the normal version.
  • Expensive knife: the difference is small, take the version you like.
  • Souvenir: above €1, don't pay extra just for the "Souvenir" label; it's the tournament stickers that can matter (see our sticker study).

FAQ

Is the StatTrak™ premium the same on every skin?

No. On guns, half of the pairs fall between ×1.12 and ×2.0: some StatTrak™ versions cost barely more, others double. Always compare both prices on the skin page.

Why is the StatTrak™ premium smaller on knives?

Because a knife's price comes mostly from its finish and its condition. The counter adds little to an item already worth several hundred euros.

Are Souvenir skins worth more?

From €1 upward, not on their own: their median price is the same as the normal version. Tournament stickers applied to them can make a difference case by case.
